Congress Leader Abhishek Dutt Critiques Punjab CM Bhagwant Manns Foreign Trip and Delhi Pollution Measures

Abhishek Dutt questions CM Bhagwant Manns foreign visit and Delhis pollution control measures, highlighting pressing issues in Punjab.

New Delhi, October 21 (Daily Kiran) : Congress leader Abhishek Dutt recently raised concerns over several pressing issues, including the claims surrounding Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann being detained at the airport, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comments, and pollution control measures in Delhi. Dutt also addressed the recent attack on actor Tiger Shroff and incidents linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Commenting on Mann’s alleged airport detention, Dutt emphasized that opposition parties have consistently accused the central government of arrogance. However, he also questioned the role of Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal in uniting the opposition, asking why he does not attend meetings against Modi and instead seeks a third front, potentially weakening the opposition.

Dutt referenced Mann’s recent trip to France, where he reportedly attended a food festival. He questioned the necessity of the Chief Minister’s foreign travel amidst ongoing issues with mining mafias and drug problems in Punjab. Highlighting the drug crisis, he stated that lives are being lost and that those raising their voices against it are facing deadly consequences. Dutt called for an investigation into Mann’s trip, noting that he sought court permission to travel when government approval was denied.

On Modi’s recent remarks regarding corruption and women’s safety, Dutt pointed out the contradiction of the Prime Minister standing alongside leaders accused of corruption. He stressed the need for courage and commitment to uphold the ideals of respect and safety for women, advocating for non-violence, truth, and integrity in governance.

Dutt also criticized the government’s plans to impose vehicle restrictions and halt construction work in Delhi starting November 1, suggesting that such measures should have been prepared well in advance. He expressed concern that without adequate public transport, these actions would inconvenience citizens.

He questioned whether the Delhi government had coordinated with the Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab to tackle pollution effectively. Regarding the construction halt, he warned that it could threaten the livelihoods of daily wage workers.

Dutt characterized the government led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta as ineffective, labeling it a “social media government” that fails to deliver on the ground.

Lastly, he expressed alarm over the attack on Tiger Shroff, stating that the continuous assaults on Bollywood personalities are a serious concern. He cited the murder of Baba Siddiqui as evidence of the central government’s failure to prevent such incidents.

Dutt mentioned hearing from a senior member of the Bishnoi family that Salman Khan should consider apologizing at a temple. He suggested that if such an apology could resolve disputes and prevent attacks on innocents, it should be taken seriously.

He concluded by stressing that if the film industry is affected by controversies, both the central and Maharashtra governments must take effective steps to ensure security for artists and others involved.
