Police Custody Extended for Four Arrested in Tiger Shroff Shooting Case

Four suspects in the shooting incident involving Tiger Shroff will remain in police custody until October 26, following a court ruling.

Mumbai, October 22 (Daily Kiran) : Four individuals arrested in connection with the shooting incident involving actor Tiger Shroff will remain in police custody until October 26. The Mumbai police had requested a nine-day custody extension, but the court has ordered them to be held until the specified date.

The suspects were presented at the Esplanade Court in Mumbai, where the defense raised questions regarding the necessity of keeping them in custody to investigate weapons and mobile phone data.

Ajinkya Mirgal Madhukar, the defense attorney, stated, “The accused were brought here on a transit remand from Delhi. They were presented in court and asked if they had any complaints against the police. They indicated they did not. However, a significant issue arose regarding their alleged supply of weapons, although the remand report lacked detailed information, mentioning only one pistol. There was no clarification on whether the pistol was domestic or foreign, nor was its type specified.”

Mirgal further emphasized to the media, “A pistol is not a trivial item. It is not a toy that can be casually distributed.” The prosecution later argued that since the suspects’ mobile phones had already been seized, which could yield recoverable data, physical custody was unnecessary.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court approved the police custody until October 26, while an appeal for further custody is set for October 31.

The shooting incident occurred on October 18 at around 7 PM as Tiger Shroff was leaving a football club and heading home. Fortunately, he escaped unharmed, but his driver sustained serious injuries. Following the incident, police initiated an investigation and arrested the four suspects.
