Hardoi, March 22: In a significant crackdown on rising theft incidents, police in Hardoi have made a major arrest. A joint team from the Pali and Pachdevra police stations apprehended a notorious criminal during an encounter. The suspect was injured and has been hospitalized for treatment. Investigations revealed that the arrested individual was involved in stealing oil from electrical transformers.
According to police reports, there has been a surge in oil thefts from transformers in the district. While on patrol searching for suspects, the police noticed a suspicious vehicle. When officers attempted to stop the car, the occupants tried to flee and opened fire on the police team. In response, the police returned fire, injuring the suspect. He was promptly arrested. The suspect has been identified as Kuldeep, also known as Gabbar, a resident of Farrukhabad.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Alok Rajan Singh stated that the police recovered ₹20,000 in cash, a car, a firearm, cartridges, 40 liters of oil, and a mobile phone from the suspect. Legal action has been initiated against him under relevant sections of the law. The arrested individual is linked to a gang involved in transformer oil theft and is wanted in several cases.
The assistant superintendent also mentioned that the injured suspect is receiving treatment at the hospital. Police will interrogate him about other members of the gang involved in transformer oil theft to take further action against the entire group.
Notably, following directives from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, police across Uttar Pradesh are intensifying their efforts against criminals. They are conducting regular checks and apprehending thieves to ensure public safety.
