New Delhi, April 4: In a swift operation, police in Dwarka apprehended a vehicle thief during a routine check. The suspect was found in possession of a stolen scooter and a button knife. Following rigorous questioning, police recovered another stolen two-wheeler based on the suspect’s information.
This operation was conducted by the Sector-23 Dwarka police team, under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police Kishore Kumar Rewala and Station House Officer Bijender Chhillar. While on regular patrol, officers spotted a suspicious individual attempting to flee on a scooter. Acting quickly, they intercepted him for an investigation.
During the search, police discovered a white Honda Activa scooter and a button knife. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the scooter had been stolen from the Uttam Nagar area, with a prior case already filed. Subsequently, the suspect was taken into custody for questioning.
During interrogation, the suspect made several significant revelations. Based on his information, police recovered another stolen TVS scooter, which had also been reported stolen from the Sector-23 Dwarka area. Thus, police successfully resolved two vehicle theft cases.
The suspect, identified as Ravi Ranjan, is 24 years old and resides in the Goyla Dairy area. He is a habitual vehicle thief with a history of involvement in multiple theft cases. Previous charges related to vehicle theft are already registered against him.
According to family information, the suspect’s father has passed away, and he lives with his mother and two brothers. Despite a normal economic situation, he has turned to a life of crime.
In connection with the illegal knife found, police have filed a separate case against him under the Arms Act. The suspect is currently in custody, and further questioning is ongoing to uncover additional theft cases.
