Milwaukee, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : Poland is looking to strengthen its collaboration with India in the defense and space sectors. Andrzej Domanski, the country’s Minister of Finance and Economy, announced plans to double investments in the space industry and bring Polish space companies to India.
In a special interview during the G20 trade ministers’ meeting, Domanski highlighted key areas for economic cooperation, including defense, space, machinery, and food processing. He emphasized the potential for significant partnerships in the defense sector, noting Poland’s rapid development of its defense industry.
Domanski described the space sector as a critical area for collaboration between the two nations. He stated that Poland has decided to increase its investment in the space industry and is committed to introducing its space companies to India.
The machinery sector also presents a substantial opportunity for enhancing business relations, according to Domanski. He pointed out Poland’s strengths in this area, suggesting it could be a fruitful avenue for cooperation. Additionally, he mentioned the food processing sector, where Poland sees potential for increased trade, particularly in poultry products.
His remarks come at a time when Poland is eager to bolster its economic ties with India. Domanski referred to India as a significant global economy and expressed Poland’s desire to establish stable, long-term economic relationships with the country.
He stated, “We view India as a global leader. We see it as a country of ambitious people, much like the people of Poland.” Domanski also noted the importance of India as a democratic nation, which is vital for Poland’s economic interests.
As Poland’s economy continues to grow, with an expected increase of approximately 3.5 to 3.6 percent this year, Warsaw is actively seeking new trade partners. Domanski characterized Poland as one of the fastest-growing major economies in Europe and expressed a strong interest in building closer commercial ties with India, a major player in Asia.
