Weather Shift in Rajasthan: Rain and Hail Bring a Chill to the Region

Rajasthan experiences a weather shift with rain and hail, leading to cooler temperatures across the state.

Jaipur, October 19 (Daily Kiran) : Recent weather changes have swept across Rajasthan, with significant rainfall and hail reported in several districts, including Jaipur and Ajmer. The Meteorological Department noted that these conditions have led to a drop in temperatures, particularly over the past two days.

In Sawai Madhopur, intermittent rain occurred from 3 AM to 8 AM on Monday, raising concerns among farmers about potential crop damage. Crops in the Khandar area of Sawai Madhopur are nearing harvest, and farmers fear that adverse weather could impact their yields.

Rain was also recorded on Sunday in various districts, such as Tonk, Baran, and Ajmer. Reports of hail in Jaipur and Ajmer have further contributed to the cooler climate. Overcast skies and limited sunshine have caused daytime temperatures to fall below normal levels. On Sunday, minimum temperatures dropped below 20 degrees Celsius in more than ten cities across Rajasthan, with Mount Abu recording the lowest at 15.3 degrees Celsius.

According to recorded data, minimum temperatures included 19.4 degrees Celsius in Tonk, 19.5 in Alwar, 19.3 in Pilani, 18.8 in Sikar, 19 in Pali, 19.7 in Sri Ganganagar, 18.6 in Dungarpur, 16 in Sirohi, 17 in Fatehpur, and 19.7 in Jhunjhunu.

The combination of rain, hail, and reduced sunlight has led to a noticeable drop in temperatures, making mornings, evenings, and nights significantly colder. On Sunday, maximum temperatures were also relatively low, with Alwar recording 31.8 degrees Celsius, Hanumangarh at 31.2, and both Karauli and Jhunjhunu at 32.4 degrees Celsius.

Looking ahead, the Jaipur Meteorological Center has forecasted dry weather for the next three to four days, with mostly clear skies and plenty of sunshine expected. However, another western disturbance is anticipated to affect the region around October 22-23, potentially bringing further changes to the weather.
