PM Modi Shares Wisdom on Inner Strength and Self-Confidence Through Ancient Sanskrit Verse
PM Modi emphasizes the importance of self-knowledge for inner strength and peace, sharing a profound Sanskrit verse on social media.

New Delhi, November 4 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently shared a profound Sanskrit verse on the social media platform X, conveying a message about attaining ultimate peace through experience and knowledge.
The verse, “प्रतिबोधविदितं मतममृतत्वं हि विन्दते. आत्मना विन्दते वीर्यं विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्॥” translates to the idea that self-knowledge grants individuals inner strength and self-confidence, freeing them from mental stress. Recognizing one’s true self through personal experience is the essence of real knowledge, which leads to ultimate peace and immortality.
This verse is the fourth mantra from the second chapter of the third section of the Kenopanishad, a key Upanishad of the Samaveda. The text discusses the nature of Brahman (ultimate truth), explaining that it cannot be understood like ordinary objects or sensory experiences. Instead, it is the foundation of our consciousness and inner awareness.
The verse illustrates that Brahman is not an external entity to be sought after; rather, it exists as the witness or observer at every level of our knowledge, thoughts, and consciousness. When a person perceives this ultimate truth in every experience, they become liberated from ignorance and the cycle of death.
It further emphasizes that material possessions, status, or wealth provide only temporary power. True and unbreakable spiritual strength comes from recognizing one’s soul. Ignorance binds individuals in suffering, while the knowledge of Brahman or self-knowledge is the path that leads to immortality and ultimate liberation.
Through this verse, the message is clear: the ultimate truth cannot be discovered through bookish knowledge or external searches but must be realized through inner consciousness and self-awareness.
