
Victoria, June 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the prestigious ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ honor in Seychelles for his leadership in environmental conservation and sustainable development. On Sunday, he expressed gratitude to the people and government of Seychelles for this recognition.
He dedicated the award to all nations facing the challenges of climate change and those committed to environmental preservation for future generations. In a post on social media platform X, Modi stated, “I sincerely thank the people, government, and President Dr. Patrick Herminie of Seychelles for honoring me with the ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ award.”
Modi remarked, “I humbly accept this award and dedicate it to all countries fighting the challenge of climate change and recognizing the responsibility of protecting the environment for future generations. This is a challenge that we must tackle together.”
Reiterating India’s commitment to combating climate change, Modi emphasized, “India is ready to take every necessary step to make our planet greener and more sustainable. This is evident in our domestic policies, our focus on Mission Life, and global initiatives like the International Solar Alliance and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.”
This award is a recognition of Prime Minister Modi’s long-standing efforts in sustainable development and environmental conservation, as well as his vision for green growth on an international platform.
Following the exchange of various Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the two countries, Modi expressed his gratitude in a joint statement, saying, “Thank you to Dr. Patrick Herminie, the delegations from both countries, and the media colleagues. I sincerely appreciate President Herminie’s warm welcome and hospitality. Being awarded the ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ is a matter of pride and joy for me and the 1.4 billion people of India.
