PM Modi Highlights Eight Virtues for a Fulfilling Life

New Delhi, August 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared an insightful post on the social media platform ‘X’ on Tuesday, emphasizing the importance of eight virtues in human life.

He stated, “These eight qualities illuminate a person’s life. Wisdom clarifies the path, morality purifies conduct, and self-control maintains discipline. Knowledge provides discernment, courage keeps one steadfast in difficult times, and eloquence earns respect in society. Generosity according to one’s ability and gratitude for kindness enrich one’s character.”

Additionally, PM Modi shared a Sanskrit verse: “Aṣṭau guṇāḥ puruṣaṁ dīpayanti prajñā suśīlatvād amau śrutaṁ ca. Parākramaś ca bahubhāṣitā ca dānaṁ yathāśakti kṛtajñatā ca.”

On the previous day, he had shared another Sanskrit verse: “Bhadraṁ karṇebhiḥ śṛṇuyāma devā bhadraṁ paśyemākṣabhiryajatrāḥ. Sthirairaṅgais tuṣṭuvāṁs tanūbhir vyśema devahitaṁ yadāyuḥ.” The Hindi translation of this verse conveys the message of listening to truth, adopting auspicious thoughts, and dedicating life to public welfare with healthy bodies and noble qualities.

Earlier, on August 7, PM Modi had shared another insightful verse, stating, “Kiṁ candra māḥ pratyupakāra lipseyā karoti gobhīḥ kumudāvabodhanam. Svabhāva evonnata cetasāṁ satāṁ paropakāra vyasanaṁ hi jīvitaṁ.” The Hindi meaning emphasizes that the moon does not illuminate the lotus with the desire for reciprocation; rather, it is its inherent nature. Similarly, noble-hearted individuals help others selflessly, as altruism is part of their character.
