PM Modi Addresses European Round Table for Industry in Gothenburg

New Delhi, May 18: Prime Minister Modi expressed his honor in addressing the European Round Table for Industry (ERT) in Gothenburg, Sweden, on Monday.

Highlighting the country’s rapid economic growth and new generation reforms, he emphasized the government’s focus on improving the ‘Ease of Doing Business’, expanding digital public infrastructure, and strengthening the manufacturing ecosystem alongside a rapidly evolving infrastructure sector.

Reiterating India’s vision of “Design for India, Make in India, and Export from India,” he invited European companies to increase investments in sectors such as telecommunications and digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, electronics, deep-tech manufacturing, green transformation, clean energy, infrastructure and mobility, as well as healthcare and life sciences.

PM Modi stressed the need to collaboratively develop strong and diverse supply chains between India and Europe. He outlined India’s ambitious infrastructure and energy transition plans, which include significant investments in transportation, logistics, renewable energy, green hydrogen, and nuclear energy.

He also highlighted the importance of talent mobility, education, and skills partnerships between India and Europe, noting that India’s young and skilled workforce will play a crucial role in future global economic growth.

Additionally, he proposed to hold the India-Europe CEO Roundtable annually and suggested establishing an “India Desk” within the ERT.
