Pakistani Drone Sighted in Samba, Security Forces Launch Extensive Search Operation

Jammu, March 14: A comprehensive search operation was initiated in the forward areas of Samba district, Jammu and Kashmir, shortly after a Pakistani drone crossed the international border into Indian territory on Saturday.

Officials reported that following the drone’s incursion, security forces launched a significant search operation across several villages in Samba district. Enemy drone activity was observed for a few minutes over the villages of Kandrala, Abtal, and Bahadurpur in the Ramgarh sector late Friday night.

Authorities stated, “Intensive monitoring of the area has been established, and a large search operation commenced during the day to prevent the smuggling of arms or narcotics across the border.”

The Indian Army is deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) in the regions of Kupwara, Bandipora, and Baramulla, as well as in the Poonch, Rajouri, and partially in Jammu districts of the Jammu division.

The Border Security Force (BSF) is stationed at the international border, particularly in the Samba, Kathua, and Jammu districts of the Jammu division.

To counter infiltration, evacuations, drug trafficking, and drone activities from the Pakistani side of the border, both the Army and BSF have been deployed.

Terrorist organizations, with the assistance of Pakistan’s ISI, utilize drones to drop weapons, ammunition, drugs, and cash to promote terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

The payloads carried by these drones are collected by the ground operatives of terrorist organizations and subsequently delivered to terrorists.

The Indian Army and BSF have installed specialized anti-drone equipment along the LoC and international border. Following the deployment of these advanced anti-drone systems, incidents of drones crossing the border into Jammu and Kashmir have significantly decreased.
