Outrage Over Brutal Killing of Muslim Man in Rajasthan Sparks Calls for Investigation
The brutal murder of Sakeen Khan in Alwar has drawn condemnation from leaders and calls for a thorough investigation into the incident.

Alwar, September 26 (Daily Kiran) : Senior religious leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed deep sorrow over the brutal murder of Sakeen Khan, a Muslim man in Alwar, Rajasthan. He linked the incident to rising communal hatred and called for a thorough investigation.
Farooq took to social media to describe the killing, which occurred outside a police station, as shocking. Khan’s family claims he was targeted because his beard and cap identified him as a Muslim. “A detailed investigation is necessary, and the culprits must be brought to justice,” he stated.
He highlighted a troubling trend, noting that inflammatory remarks against minorities by BJP leaders have become commonplace. Such rhetoric fosters prejudice and hatred, normalizing dangerous ideologies in political discourse. “When hate is repeatedly legitimized on public platforms, it is no surprise when the consequences spill into the streets. This dangerous normalization must end,” he emphasized.
On the morning of September 24, Sakeen Khan, a 40-year-old resident of Barwas village, informed his son he was going to buy a new tire for his motorcycle and would return shortly to tend to his onion crop. Hours later, he was brutally murdered just outside the Barodamev police station, with his head crushed by a stone. The alleged attacker has since been arrested by police.
Khan’s younger brother, Irshad Khan, spoke with a trembling voice, expressing confusion over the motive behind the attack. “He had no enemies. His only crime was his appearance,” he said, suspecting that his brother was killed for being visibly Muslim. “He was murdered right outside the police station, and not a single officer came to his aid.”
Family members reported that Sakeen had traveled about ten kilometers to Barodamev to purchase a tire with another villager. According to Sakeen’s father, Nasru Khan, the other man had business in Barodamev, so Sakeen planned to buy some household items after dropping him off. “As he approached the police station, a man suddenly struck him on the head with a heavy stone. He fell, and the assailant continued to hit him with a sharp rock until his skull was crushed,” Nasru recounted.
