
Hanoi, May 19: Addressing the Indian community in Hanoi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized that ‘Operation Sindoor’ symbolizes India’s growing strength, confidence, and capabilities. He stated that India is now stronger and more decisive than ever, ready to face any challenge head-on.
Rajnath Singh clearly articulated India’s commitment to its ‘No First Use’ nuclear policy, asserting that the country will not yield to any form of nuclear blackmail. He warned that if any adversarial nation engages in wrongful actions, India is fully prepared to respond decisively.
He also highlighted India’s technological advancements, noting the rapid progress in the semiconductor sector. On the social media platform ‘X’, he remarked that this is not just a story of technological growth but also a narrative of building a new India. He invited countries and investors worldwide to be part of India’s development, investment, and partnership journey.
The Defense Minister stated that India’s rising international reputation and the central government’s efforts have bolstered the confidence of every Indian.
Rajnath Singh arrived in Hanoi on a two-day visit to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and Vietnam. This visit follows the recent trip of Vietnamese President To Lam to India, during which the relationship was elevated to an ‘Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.’
From May 18 to 19, Rajnath Singh will be in Vietnam, followed by a visit to South Korea from May 19 to 21. He noted that the primary objectives of this trip are to strengthen strategic military cooperation, enhance defense industry partnerships, and bolster maritime collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region to maintain peace and stability.
During his visit to South Korea, Rajnath Singh will hold bilateral meetings with South Korean National Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-baek and meet with Minister Lee Yong-chul of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration. He will also chair the India-Korea Business Roundtable.
