New Delhi, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : The Hindu calendar holds significant importance, especially when it comes to auspicious events, travel, investments, or rituals. The Panchang, which is based on the positions of the sun, moon, and other celestial bodies, is consulted before undertaking any significant activity.
On October 11, 2026, the first day of Sharadiya Navratri will commence with the worship of Maa Shailputri, the first form of Goddess Durga. This day also includes the ritual of Ghatasthapana, or the installation of the sacred pot.
According to the Panchang, the month of Ashwin’s Shukla Paksha will begin at 9:31 PM on this day, followed by the Dwitiya Tithi. Sunrise will occur at 6:26 AM, and sunset will be at 6:01 PM. The moon will rise at 6:47 AM and set at 6:19 PM.
On this day, the Sun will be positioned in the Chitra Nakshatra. Vedic astrology suggests that when the Sun enters this nakshatra, it brings significant and profound effects. Mars, the ruler of Chitra, is considered a friend of the Sun. This conjunction enhances self-confidence, courage, and energy, especially benefiting those in managerial or administrative roles who may receive recognition or promotions.
The Vaidhriti Yoga will be in effect until 9:05 PM. This yoga is the last of the 27 nitya yogas and is associated with the Sanskrit term meaning “to fully bear” or “to stop.” It is formed when specific angular distances between the Sun and Moon align in a particular way.
The Abhijit Muhurat, regarded as the most auspicious time of the day, will occur from 11:50 AM to 12:36 PM. Activities initiated during this period are believed to negate any negative influences.
Additionally, Amritkaal, a time filled with positive energy, will take place from 3:53 PM to 5:32 PM. This is considered an ideal time for starting new ventures, investments, or important travel.
However, the Rahukal, deemed inauspicious for new beginnings, will run from 4:34 PM to 6:01 PM. It is calculated by dividing the time between sunrise and sunset into eight equal parts, with each segment lasting approximately 90 minutes.
Gulik Kaal, another inauspicious period, will occur from 3:07 PM to 4:34 PM, and is associated with negative outcomes for new endeavors. It is advisable to continue ongoing tasks during this time.
Yamgand Kaal, linked to the deity of death, will last from 12:13 PM to 1:40 PM. This period is also considered unfavorable for initiating new projects or traveling.
On October 11, the Sun will be in Virgo, bringing a practical and organized approach to work. The Moon will remain in Virgo until 10:03 AM before transitioning to Libra, which is believed to enhance analytical and sensitive qualities in individuals.
Lastly, the direction of Dishashool will be towards the west, indicating an inauspicious direction for travel on this day.
