Mumbai, March 20: In a significant police operation, Indal Giri, a notorious criminal with a bounty of ₹25,000 on his head, was arrested during a police encounter in the Matikarpur area of Biswan, Sitapur district, Uttar Pradesh. This incident occurred on Friday morning, following the earlier arrests of three of his accomplices.
Police officials reported that the arrest was a joint effort by the Biswan police and the Special Operations Group (SOG). Authorities recovered a motorcycle, a firearm, and four cartridges from Giri’s possession. He sustained injuries during the encounter and has been admitted to the Community Health Centre in Biswan for treatment.
Circle Officer Aman Singh, present at the scene, stated that they received a tip-off indicating Giri was planning to commit another crime. Acting on this information, the Biswan police and SOG attempted to intercept him near Mochkala. During the confrontation, Giri opened fire on the police while attempting to flee, resulting in a gunshot wound to his right leg as the police retaliated in self-defense.
SP Ankur Agarwal had previously issued strict directives for action against criminals, leading to this successful operation under the leadership of CO Aman Singh. Indal Giri, a resident of Khalasapurwa in Rampur Kala, was wanted in a case registered at the Biswan police station. Three other suspects related to this case have already been apprehended.
CO Aman Singh emphasized that this arrest will enhance security in the area and help demoralize criminals. The police will continue to monitor such offenders closely and remain vigilant to prevent any criminal activities. Interrogation of Indal Giri is underway to identify and apprehend his remaining associates.
