Chinas Emerging Industries Expected to Surpass 100 Trillion Yuan by 2030
By 2030, Chinas key emerging industries are projected to exceed a production value of 100 trillion yuan, boosting economic growth.

Beijing, November 3 (Daily Kiran) : Beijing is set for a significant economic transformation, with projections indicating that the production value of China’s key emerging industries will exceed 100 trillion yuan by the end of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030). This ambitious target is poised to play a crucial role in supporting high-quality economic development.
At a press conference in Beijing, Run Chongpao, deputy director of the Innovation and High-Tech Development Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, shared these insights on November 3. He highlighted the substantial progress made in these industries, noting that their production value was approximately 60 trillion yuan in 2025. Each sector has developed a relatively complete industrial and supply chain.
In the first three quarters of this year, the production of integrated circuits reached 442.8 billion units, reflecting a remarkable 23.3 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Additionally, the transaction value of technology licensing for innovative drugs abroad was around 130 billion USD, nearly matching last year’s total.
Run emphasized that during the 15th Five-Year Plan, China aims to deepen reforms and expand openness while adapting to local conditions. The government intends to fully leverage the market’s decisive role in resource allocation.
Over the next five years, China will focus on enhancing innovation capabilities, advancing key technologies, developing application scenarios, and building a robust industrial ecosystem for the growth of its emerging industries.
