Noida Police Uncover Mobile Snatching Gang, Arrest Suspects

Noida, March 9: The police in Noida’s Sector 113 have apprehended a notorious suspect involved in mobile snatching and theft, along with a minor accomplice.

Authorities seized six mobile phones from various brands, a motorcycle used in the crimes, and an illegal knife from the suspects.

According to police reports, the arrest of Arun was made on Sunday, aided by local intelligence and electronic surveillance. The minor, who was with him, has also been taken into custody. Both suspects were found in possession of the stolen mobile phones, the motorcycle, and the knife.

During interrogation, Arun revealed that he and his accomplice targeted pedestrians in different areas of Noida while riding a motorcycle. They would snatch mobile phones from unsuspecting individuals and flee the scene. Subsequently, they sold the stolen phones at significantly low prices, claiming to be in desperate need of money.

The investigation also uncovered that the suspects had stolen a mobile phone from an auto-rickshaw in the Sector 119 area a few days prior. They split the money earned from selling that phone between themselves. Arun, identified as the son of Ramjiwan, is originally from Kripalpur village in the Sandila area of Hardoi district, Uttar Pradesh, and is currently residing in Hoshiyarpur village in Noida. He is approximately 20 years old.

The police have filed a case against Arun at the Sector 113 police station under relevant sections of the law and are pursuing further legal action. They are also investigating other locations in the city where the suspects may have committed similar crimes.
