NIA Files Third Charge Sheet in International Arms and Drug Trafficking Case

The NIA has filed a third charge sheet in a major arms and drug trafficking case, naming two additional suspects from Rajasthan.

Jaipur, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has submitted its third charge sheet in a significant case involving international arms and drug trafficking. This filing was made in a special court in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on October 17, 2026. The charge sheet names two additional suspects, Satyanarayan Meghwal and Sahil Godara, who were arrested in July 2026.

The NIA has also included additional sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) against six previously charged individuals. According to the agency, Satyanarayan Meghwal is the son of Ami Lal, while Sahil Godara is the son of Vijay Singh. Both face charges under various sections of the UAPA, the Arms Act, the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS), and the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

This case is linked to an alleged organized smuggling network operating in North India, which reportedly has cross-border connections. Investigations reveal that associates of this network used drones to drop shipments of illegal arms, ammunition, and heroin near the international border. Co-conspirators and other network members in India would then retrieve these shipments for distribution in Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab.

The investigation has also uncovered that the network utilized encrypted communication methods to coordinate operations, manage logistics, and evade law enforcement agencies.

According to the NIA, this network aimed to target youth by distributing narcotics and psychotropic substances, promoting addiction, exploiting individuals, and fostering discontent towards India.

The NIA stated that the investigation is ongoing. The agency is focused on identifying and apprehending remaining suspects, uncovering the extensive connections of the smuggling network, and establishing the full scope of the alleged criminal activities.
