NIA Files Supplementary Charges Against Four in Sirsa Grenade Attack Case

The NIA has filed charges against four individuals linked to the grenade attack in Sirsa, Haryana, detailing their roles in the conspiracy.

Sirsa, October 18 (Daily Kiran) : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has submitted a supplementary chargesheet against four individuals in connection with the grenade attack that occurred near a women’s police station in Sirsa, Haryana, on November 25, 2025. This development was announced by the agency on Sunday.

The accused—Rajbir Singh, also known as Fauji, Ved Prakash (Pamma), Jivanajot Singh Grewal (Jyoti), and Chirag Thakral—are detailed in the chargesheet filed in a special NIA court located in Panchkula. The case was initially registered at the Civil Lines police station in Sirsa on November 26, 2025, and was subsequently re-registered by the NIA on December 30, 2025.

Earlier, on May 24, 2026, the NIA had filed charges against nine individuals, including Pakistani nationals Shahzad Bhatti and Sohel Ahmed, also known as Sohel Baloch.

The supplementary chargesheet elaborates on the conspiracy and the distinct roles played by the four accused. It incorporates evidence gathered during the ongoing investigation. They face charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Explosive Substances Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

According to the NIA, Rajbir Singh acted as a coordinator, collaborating with handlers based abroad to facilitate the collection and movement of weapons, hand grenades, and narcotics within India. The others—Chirag Thakral, Jivanajot Singh Grewal, and Ved Prakash—were instrumental in delivering the explosives used in the attack, following Rajbir Singh’s directives.

This grenade attack was reportedly part of a planned operation by members of Shahzad Bhatti’s network, aimed at harming police personnel and instilling fear among the public. The investigation has revealed links between this conspiracy and handlers operating across borders, managing terrorist networks.

The NIA stated that the inquiry is ongoing, aiming to identify and apprehend other individuals involved in the conspiracy and to dismantle the entire cross-border terrorist network behind the attack.
