Vadodara, March 21: Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister, Harsh Sanghvi, inaugurated the new Command and Control Center for Vadodara Municipal Police on Saturday. This center, established within the police building, is part of Gujarat Police’s Smart Policing initiative and was developed through the Network for Technology Enabled Rapid Assurance and Monitoring (NETRAM) project.
The center aims to enhance city-level surveillance and operational efficiency using advanced technology. Upon Sanghvi’s arrival, he was welcomed by Director General of Police (DGP) K.L.N. Rao and Municipal Police Commissioner Narsimha Kumar, with a police squad presenting a guard of honor.
During the inauguration ceremony, a plaque was unveiled to mark the official opening of the center. The Municipal Police Commissioner provided a brief overview, stating that this facility will assist in real-time crime detection, coordination during major festivals and city events, and effective management of police resources.
He noted that through this center, continuous monitoring of Vadodara’s safety and traffic conditions is possible, allowing for rapid response to incidents and improved public safety. After the ceremony, Sanghvi toured the center and reviewed the surveillance systems, including CCTV cameras covering key areas of the city.
He was informed about how this technology aids both security and traffic management. Sanghvi emphasized the importance of fully utilizing advanced technology in police operations and suggested further integration of sophisticated systems into the city’s security activities.
This center represents a significant step towards modernizing police operations in Vadodara.
