New Gujarati Film Bhamardo Aims to Inspire Like Taare Zameen Par: Hetal Puniwala

Mumbai, May 26: Regional cinema is increasingly capturing audiences with unique and compelling stories. The Gujarati film industry, in particular, is witnessing a surge in films that convey strong societal messages. Among these, the new film ‘Bhamardo’ is gaining attention. Actor Hetal Puniwala shared intriguing insights about the film, highlighting the inspirational nature of his character.

Puniwala explained, “In the film, my character educates children about a competition called ‘Bhamardo.’ He explains that if a child performs well in this competition, they can earn a scholarship. One child, who initially knows nothing about this game, struggles to learn how to play ‘Bhamardo.’ The story follows his journey as he faces economic hardships but remains determined to reach the competition through hard work and perseverance.”

Discussing his role, Hetal mentioned, “At first, I had no idea this role would be so emotional. There are scenes in the film that will resonate deeply with the audience. It carries the same emotional depth that viewers experienced in Aamir Khan’s films like ‘Taare Zameen Par.'”

Hetal also revealed that he was initially unaware of the complete storyline when filming began. “I was only informed about my character, which left me a bit confused about the film’s direction. Even during shooting, I didn’t have a full grasp of the story. However, after watching the complete film, I realized it is a beautiful and touching narrative. I am confident that audiences will appreciate this story.”

He shared another interesting tidbit: he almost missed the opportunity to be part of this film due to scheduling conflicts with another shoot. It was only after a call from the renowned personality Babubhai Theba, who explained the significance of the character and the story’s essence, that Hetal decided to take on the role. “I trust Babubhai immensely. Once he conveyed the importance of the character and the emotional weight of the story, I immediately agreed to the film,” he stated.

The shooting experience was not easy for the actor. Hetal recounted, “The filming took place under challenging conditions. Most of the shoots were during the day when temperatures soared to around 44 degrees Celsius. Working in such extreme heat was quite difficult, especially with many young children involved.”

He noted that the heat was so intense that a few children fell ill during the shoot. Despite this, the entire team persevered and completed the filming successfully.
