
Jerusalem, April 29: Israel’s Defense Forces have announced the destruction of Hezbollah tunnels built over nearly a decade. Prime Minister Netanyahu stated on social media platform X that a significant terrorist tunnel has been blown up, resulting in the deaths of numerous terrorists. He added that further actions are still pending.
The Israeli Defense Forces reported that under the operations of Division 36 in southern Lebanon’s Kuntar, they discovered the most significant underground tunnel found in Lebanon to date. This tunnel measures approximately 2 kilometers in length and extends 25 meters underground.
It was noted that the tunnel was constructed with Iranian assistance and was destroyed using 450 tons of explosives on Tuesday. According to the Israeli Defense Forces, this tunnel was dug into rocky granite and featured 30 shafts, with a total length exceeding 2 kilometers across two different axes.
Inside, the tunnel contained 30 rooms, decorated with images of Ayatollah regime leaders and adorned with decorative lamps. The Israeli Defense Forces also reported that a substantial cache of weapons was hidden within the tunnels, which were utilized by hundreds of Hezbollah terrorists stationed in the area.
Lieutenant Colonel H from the Hellenic Army’s First Infantry Division, who has been involved in the search for underground tunnels over the past two years, described this find as particularly significant.
