The ICC Asia Conference will take place in Nepal, focusing on cricket development and regional cooperation among Asian cricket nations.

Kathmandu, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : Kathmandu will welcome the ICC Asia Conference from November 19 to 21, 2026. The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) announced the event on Friday. Cricket administrators from across Asia will gather to discuss various issues related to the development of the sport in the region.

Organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and managed by CAN, the conference will include representatives from Test-playing nations and associate members, along with senior officials from the global cricket community.

In a statement, CAN Secretary Paras Khadka expressed optimism about the event. He noted, “Hosting this conference will open new avenues for sports in the country. It will enhance the structural development of Nepali cricket and help expand the country’s international relations in the sports sector.”

The conference is expected to strengthen Nepal’s position in international cricket administration. Additionally, it aims to boost tourism in the Himalayan nation, which has been affected by sudden flooding in August.

Coinciding with the conference, the third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) will kick off on October 26, with eliminator and final matches taking place during the conference. Khadka remarked, “Hosting this conference is a significant milestone for Nepali cricket. It will enhance Nepal’s international presence and promote sports tourism. Delegates will also witness the eliminator and final matches of the Siddharth Bank Nepal Premier League (SBL NPL 3).”

Recently, the ICC officially recognized the NPL as an accredited tournament. The upcoming edition will feature several internationally acclaimed players, including David Warner, Shakib Al Hasan, Sikandar Raza, Moeen Ali, Jimmy Neesham, and former Indian cricketer K.S. Bharat.
