Madurai, March 2: The NDA’s rally in Madurai, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been deemed historic. Vanathi Srinivasan, the national president of the BJP’s women’s wing, expressed that the Prime Minister’s visit brings renewed energy to the party.
Srinivasan stated, “Whenever the Prime Minister visits Tamil Nadu, we gain new energy. The NDA receives a boost, and we are confident that the 2026 elections will be ours. The NDA’s victory is certain.”
She also addressed ongoing legal battles involving communities, the government, and local residents, emphasizing that the matter is now in the hands of the judiciary.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal described the event as “historic,” noting that the turnout was unprecedented for the state. He criticized local authorities for not cooperating, claiming that the venue was overcrowded. Goyal remarked, “I had to ensure that our workers were allowed inside.”
PMK leader Ambumani Ramadoss praised the rally, stating, “The NDA meeting in Madurai was excellent, with a massive crowd. Many were unable to enter the venue as the Tamil Nadu government allegedly tried to prevent people from coming in. The Prime Minister delivered a remarkable speech about Tamil Nadu’s history, achievements, and what this government has done for the state.”
BJP spokesperson C.R. Kesavan asserted that the successful NDA rally in Madurai signals a definitive defeat for the corrupt DMK government in the upcoming elections.
Additionally, local resident Jayguru attended the NDA public meeting and shared that the Prime Minister’s visit conveyed positive and encouraging messages. He highlighted how the Prime Minister and coalition leaders addressed the “betrayal” by the DMK in Tamil Nadu and detailed benefits from the central government, including the HPV vaccine, AIIMS, and Train 18 services.
