Amaravati, January 19 – Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stated on Monday that the NDA government has successfully restored the brand image of Andhra Pradesh in the past 18 months. He claimed that as a result, the state has attracted nearly 25 percent of the total investment inflows into the country.
Addressing the Telugu diaspora in Zurich, the Chief Minister highlighted that Google is moving forward with establishing an AI data centre in Visakhapatnam. Additionally, RSLR Mittal plans to invest ₹1 lakh crore to set up a steel plant, and AM Green is preparing to make significant investments in a green ammonia plant in Kakinada.
Representatives from the Telugu diaspora across 20 countries participated in the event, which marked the first day of the Chief Minister’s four-day visit to attend the World Economic Forum meeting.
Focus on Employment and Emerging Technologies
Naidu emphasized efforts to attract ₹22 lakh crore in investments aimed at creating jobs for 20 lakh youth. Citing the development model of the small country Liechtenstein, he said the Andhra Pradesh government is focusing on quantum computing, artificial intelligence (AI), space, and drone technologies. The health sector is also a priority, with the launch of the ‘Sanjeevani’ health programme planned for the state.
Encouraging Entrepreneurship Among NR Telugu
The Chief Minister announced that a corpus fund of ₹50 crore has been created to encourage non-resident Telugu (NRT) entrepreneurs. He urged NRTs not to limit themselves to employment but to become job creators by adopting innovative ideas. Support and guidance for NRT entrepreneurship will be provided through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub. Ministers Nara Lokesh, TG Bharat, and Union Minister Rammohan Naidu have been entrusted with the responsibility to develop NRT entrepreneurs.
He pointed out that while Telugu people live in 195 countries worldwide, Andhra Pradesh’s NRTs are present in 148 countries. Inviting them to invest in the state, Naidu assured full government support to help them become entrepreneurs. He advised couples working abroad to consider entrepreneurship as a means of generating employment. The government is ready to assist those who want to start ventures overseas or return to Andhra Pradesh.
Support for Education and Innovation
The Chief Minister also mentioned that the government supports students pursuing education abroad by providing government guarantees for education loans at a low interest rate of 4 percent. To promote innovation, creativity, and employment opportunities for youth, the country’s largest research centre ‘AP First’ will be established in Tirupati.
Expressing his vision for the future, Naidu stated his confidence that India will become the world’s number one country by 2047, and Andhra Pradesh should also aim to achieve the top position within the nation.
