New Delhi, August 16: NCP spokesperson Naseem Siddiqui has criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent speech, claiming it emphasized Hindu-Muslim issues rather than development and unemployment.
Siddiqui expressed his views on various topics, including the government’s announcement of AI training for youth, the issue of Naxalism, claims made by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding violence in 1947, threats from Pakistan, a pilot project for purchasing cow urine, and the need for the Marathi language among rickshaw drivers.
He stated, “If PM Modi had discussed the country’s progress, unemployment, GDP, and the encroachment by China in Arunachal Pradesh, we would have been very pleased. Instead, he is using the Red Fort to focus on Hindu-Muslim issues and slogans like ‘Vande Mataram‘ and ‘Inquilab Zindabad,’ which is regrettable. PM Modi should have addressed the youth and Generation Z. Such statements distract from pressing issues.”
Siddiqui further noted that Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge did not attend the event. He lamented that discussions are not about the nation or its future, but rather about political parties, division, and undermining unity, which discourages participation.
Commenting on PM Modi’s announcement of AI skill training for youth and online coaching for students, Siddiqui called it absurd that the government is taking away job opportunities from the youth. He highlighted that individuals who previously served in the military until the age of 60 are now being offered only four-year contracts. Thousands of young people have protested against this. He pointed out that privatization is rampant, with Air India and LIC being sold off, and government institutions being dismantled.
Regarding the Yogi government’s decision to award the Kirti Chakra to police officers, he remarked, “Whether in UP, Bihar, or any other state, there should be no terrorism or hooliganism. If the government resorts to guns against those who do not understand parliamentary language, it should not be condemned. How can humanity be taught to those who do not understand the language of humanity? However, if those who conduct encounters based on religion are awarded the Vir Chakra or Kirti Chakra, what about those who sacrifice their lives for the country’s defense? It is acceptable to award police medals for good work, but making decisions based on caste is very unfortunate.”
