Jaipur, August 4 (H.S.) – The monsoon activity across Rajasthan has slowed down, with only light rainfall reported in eight cities on Monday. The highest recorded rainfall was one inch in Diguad, Kota. The weather department forecasts that the rainfall is likely to remain subdued in the coming days.

According to the Meteorological Department, light rain was recorded in Kota, Chittorgarh, Dabok, Pratapgarh, Banswara, Baran, Dungarpur, and Rajsamand on Monday. In the next three days, the northeastern parts of the state may witness moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder.
In contrast, western Rajasthan is expected to remain largely dry over the next five days, with only isolated places receiving light showers. Some parts of eastern Rajasthan may experience light to moderate rainfall.
Water Discharge Begins from Bisalpur Dam
As rainfall has decreased, the inflow of water into Bisalpur Dam has also declined. On Monday, two gates of the dam were opened to release 3,005 cusecs of water. Currently, gate numbers 9 and 10 are open at 0.25 metres each to regulate the outflow. The Triveni River is flowing at a level of 3.10 metres.
