Monalisa Addresses Controversy Surrounding Her Marriage: We Followed Hindu Traditions

Thiruvananthapuram, March 12: Monalisa, who gained viral fame selling flower garlands at the Mahakumbh Mela, is back in the spotlight after marrying her boyfriend, Farmaan Khan. Their wedding has sparked rumors of “love jihad” on social media, but the couple has firmly denied these claims.

Monalisa and Farmaan tied the knot in a traditional Hindu ceremony at the Arumanur Sri Nainar Deva Temple in the Poovar area near Thiruvananthapuram. During the ceremony, Monalisa wore a vibrant red saree, while Farmaan donned a white kurta and mundu.

In a recent interview, Monalisa emphasized that their marriage was conducted in accordance with Hindu customs, countering the misconceptions circulating online. “What people are thinking is not true. Our wedding was entirely in the Hindu tradition at the temple, and all rituals were followed. My father might have his thoughts, but the rumors are false. We respect all religions, and to us, all faiths are equal,” she stated.

Farmaan also expressed gratitude towards the Kerala government for their support. “We did not expect so many people to attend our wedding. We thought it would be a simple affair with just a few guests, but many attended, including ministers who blessed us. What people are saying is not true. All religions are the same for us,” he said.

Videos of their wedding are circulating widely on social media, with users actively commenting and trolling the couple.
