
Bhopal, May 11: In a recent meeting, Cooperation Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang emphasized the need for organized wheat procurement in Harda district. He assured that no eligible farmer should miss the opportunity to sell their wheat at the support price. The minister stressed that farmers should not face any inconvenience at the procurement centers. Daily reviews of the procurement process will be conducted to ensure smooth operations. Awareness programs will be initiated to reassure farmers that their wheat will be purchased.
Minister Sarang chaired a meeting of the District Development Advisory Committee at the Harda District Collectorate. The meeting was attended by Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durga Das Uike, MLA Dr. R.K. Dogne, District Panchayat President Gajendra Shah, former Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel, former MLA Timarni Sanjay Shah, and other committee members.
Sarang also directed officials to ensure the availability of fertilizers for the upcoming season. Plans are in place to distribute fertilizers at the village panchayat level starting next year, making it easier for farmers to access these essential supplies. During a review of the mineral department, he warned against illegal mining and transportation within the district, stating that police should instill fear in those engaged in such activities. He will personally conduct surprise inspections.
Instructions were given to remove all encroachments from forest land within two months and to clear all types of encroachments from government land in the next three months. The minister also emphasized the need for uninterrupted electricity supply and directed the Animal Husbandry Department to enhance milk production and establish new committees.
During the review of the Water Resources Department, information was sought regarding the supply of irrigation water for moong crops. The minister called for improvements in examination results during the review of the School Education Department. He requested an analysis of changes in the education system following the opening of Sandipani schools and the reasons for irregular student attendance in all schools.
Sarang instructed that public infrastructure should have accessible routes and ordered physical verification of water tankers provided to rural areas through MLA and MP funds.
Departments related to road construction were directed to display the year of construction, warranty period, contractor’s name, and mobile number on each road. Issues arising in the construction of roads funded by the market fund were to be identified and resolved. The Tribal Affairs Department was tasked with inspecting the status of hostels before the schools commence.
The Public Health Engineering Department was instructed to ensure a steady supply of drinking water during the summer and to address water issues in problematic villages. Departments related to road construction were also directed to prepare proposals for upgrading damaged roads. Quality control under the Prime Minister’s Rural Road Scheme was emphasized, with provisions for penalizing contractors for inadequate maintenance during the warranty period. Proposals for upgrading roads that are beyond warranty were also to be prepared.
During the review of the supply department, it was directed that consumers should not face complaints regarding ration distribution in the district. Similarly, the health department was instructed to maintain proper arrangements in government hospitals.
