Mindful Yoga: Essential Tips for Ending Your Session Properly

Discover how to conclude your yoga sessions effectively for better mental peace and physical well-being.

New Delhi, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : In today’s fast-paced world, finding time for oneself can feel like a daunting task. The pressures of work, household responsibilities, and racing thoughts make it challenging to maintain inner peace. Yoga not only helps keep the body healthy but also provides mental tranquility. However, the full benefits of yoga are realized only when sessions are concluded properly.

The Ministry of Ayush recently emphasized on social media the importance of paying attention to every detail from the beginning to the end of a yoga practice. Mindful yoga is not merely about performing various postures; it requires awareness and patience throughout each exercise. The most crucial part of a yoga session is its peaceful conclusion.

For those who practice yoga every morning, it’s advisable not to rush to the bathroom for a shower immediately after finishing. The Ministry recommends waiting about 25 to 30 minutes before bathing. This is because the body remains active during yoga, and there are changes in breath patterns. Allowing the body some time to relax post-practice is beneficial.

Additionally, one should avoid eating immediately after yoga. According to the Ministry of Ayush, it is best to wait 15 to 30 minutes before having a meal. After this period, a light and nutritious meal can be consumed. For morning practitioners, fruits, light snacks, or a nutritious breakfast aligned with their regular diet are excellent options.

After completing the practice, spend a few minutes in meditation or deep silence. Find a quiet place to sit comfortably, close your eyes, and focus on your breathing. Conclude your yoga session with a peace chant or final prayer. You may recite a peace mantra according to your beliefs, which helps foster feelings of positivity, gratitude, and tranquility.
