New Delhi, August 18: Maruti Suzuki India Limited, a leading automobile manufacturer, announced on Tuesday that its popular SUV, the Fronx, has achieved a remarkable milestone. The Fronx has crossed the 200,000 unit export mark in less than 38 months, making it the fastest SUV in India to reach this achievement.
The company stated that exports of the Fronx, manufactured in India, began in June 2023. It took less than 25 months to reach the first 100,000 units exported. The subsequent 100,000 units were exported in just about 13 months, reflecting its growing popularity in international markets.
According to the statement, the Fronx, produced at Maruti Suzuki’s factory in Hansalpur, Gujarat, is currently being exported to nearly 90 countries, including Japan. Its strong demand in global markets has positioned it among India’s most successful exported passenger vehicles.
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India, remarked that every vehicle exported by the company symbolizes the hard work of Indian employees and the country’s manufacturing capabilities.
He stated, “Every vehicle exported by Maruti Suzuki carries the hard work and pride of our people to the world. The Fronx has significantly contributed to the company’s export success. It has become India’s most exported passenger vehicle since the fiscal year 2024-25.”
Takeuchi noted that after surpassing the first 100,000 export record in record time, the Fronx achieved the second 100,000 exports even faster. This is evidence of the model’s increasing acceptance and demand in international markets.
He emphasized that Maruti Suzuki is showcasing India’s manufacturing skills globally in line with the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ vision. The company’s continuous focus on exports has kept it at the forefront of passenger vehicle exports from India.
The company has maintained its position as India’s number one passenger vehicle exporter for five consecutive years and is currently exporting 17 models to approximately 120 countries.
In the first quarter of the fiscal year 2026-27, the Fronx, along with the Jimny 5-door, E Vitara, Dzire, and Baleno, were among the most exported passenger vehicles from India, with the top three being Maruti Suzuki models.
Maruti Suzuki has captured over 55 percent of the total passenger vehicle exports from India.
