Market Outlook: U.S.-Iran Tensions and Oil Prices to Influence Indian Stock Markets

Mumbai, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : The upcoming week is set to be pivotal for the Indian stock market. Key factors such as U.S.-Iran tensions, crude oil prices, American tariffs, bond yields, and domestic economic indicators will shape market movements.

Investors are closely monitoring developments regarding U.S.-Iran relations, as any updates could have a direct impact on market performance. Additionally, the situation surrounding U.S. tariffs is also under scrutiny. Recently, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill imposing sanctions on Russia, granting President Donald Trump the authority to impose tariffs of up to 100% on countries purchasing oil and gas from Russia. This legislation could significantly affect major importers like India and China, potentially disrupting global trade and energy supplies.

Crude oil prices remain another critical factor that could lead to market volatility. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have been active, with a net purchase of ₹599.54 crore in the cash market on September 18. Domestic institutional investors also showed a positive trend, investing a net amount of ₹1,019.69 crore.

Fluctuations in the rupee and dollar exchange rates may further increase volatility in the equity market. Moreover, key domestic data, including PMI and infrastructure statistics, are expected to be released next week, which could also influence market sentiment.

Last week, the Indian stock market closed on a weaker note. Concerns over rising inflation due to high energy costs and its potential impact on economic growth affected investor sentiment. The Sensex fell by 0.65% to close at 74,294.46, while the Nifty declined by 0.22% to finish at 23,346.40.
