Marco Rubio: U.S. Will Not Compromise India Ties for Relations with Other Nations

New Delhi, May 24: Amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran, Pakistan is stepping in as a mediator. During his visit to India, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that America’s relationships with other countries will not come at the expense of its partnership with India.

Rubio stated, “Regarding our relations with other countries, we collaborate with nations worldwide at various levels and in different ways. India does the same. Responsible nations advance their relationships in this manner. However, I do not view our relations with any country as being at the cost of our strategic partnership with India, especially for the reasons I have previously mentioned.”

On military tactics concerning the conflict with Iran, Rubio refrained from discussing specifics, noting, “That is not my department.” He highlighted that when hostilities with Iran began, the objectives were clear and straightforward. The U.S. aimed to neutralize Iran’s navy, which has been accomplished, and significantly reduce its ballistic missile capabilities, a traditional shield behind which they sought refuge.

Rubio further explained that the U.S. intended to damage Iran’s defense industrial base to prevent them from rebuilding these capabilities, a goal that has also been achieved. He pointed out that Iran prefers to sponsor proxy terrorist groups, which indiscriminately target anyone.

“This is the same Iran that recently bombed a Jewish center in Argentina through its Hezbollah proxy, resulting in numerous casualties. This is the Iran that has employed roadside bombs, killing and injuring many, including American soldiers. They have orchestrated murders and assassination attempts worldwide, targeting ordinary citizens, dissenters, and anyone who opposes them,” Rubio stated.

He concluded by asserting that no other nation sponsors terrorism as extensively as Iran, which has spent millions funding these activities and targeting innocent people caught in the crossfire.
