Lucknow, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : A shocking incident occurred in Lucknow’s Sushant Golf City area when a 29-year-old man accidentally shot himself while handling an illegal firearm. The victim, identified as Yasharth Sharan Yadav, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at a local hospital.
The incident took place late Tuesday night around 11 PM. Police received reports that Yadav had shot himself at home. Upon arrival, officers learned from family members that he had brought an illegal pistol home while under the influence of alcohol. Yadav had been showing the weapon to his wife when the magazine fell out.
Family members reported that despite the magazine being removed, a bullet remained in the chamber. Believing the gun was safe, Yadav placed the pistol against his temple, claiming, “The magazine is out, nothing will happen,” before pulling the trigger. The bullet discharged, striking him in the head.
Immediately after the shooting, Yadav collapsed. His family rushed him to the Civil Hospital in Hazratganj, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.
In response to the incident, police summoned a forensic team to the scene for a thorough investigation. They recovered the illegal pistol and a spent cartridge from the site. Authorities are now working to trace the origins of the firearm and are examining Yadav’s contacts and recent activities to gather more information.
