Rajouri, February 19: In a significant achievement against terrorism, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir‘s Rajouri district have successfully disrupted a terror module.
The Rajouri police, in collaboration with the 54th National Rifles (Romeo Force), conducted a joint operation that led to the arrest of a terrorist associate. During the operation, weapons and ammunition were also seized.
Acting on specific intelligence, the police and army executed a swift and well-coordinated operation. The arrested individual has been identified as Sachin Kumar, also known as Pamma, a resident of Sehar in the Nowshera area.
Upon his arrest, a search revealed the following weapons and ammunition: a Turkish-made Tisas Zigana 9mm pistol with three magazines, a Chinese-made 30 bore TT-30 Norinco pistol with one magazine, and 15 live 9mm cartridges.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the Nowshera police station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and the investigation is ongoing.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused was in direct contact with operatives involved in cross-border drug trafficking and terrorism based in Pakistan. This arrest is considered a crucial step in weakening the active terrorist network in the district.
