Major Redevelopment at Surat Station: Train Services Affected from March 30

Surat, March 27: Significant redevelopment work at Surat Station will impact several key train services operated by Western Railway. The construction, which involves installing a ‘through roof’ between platforms 2, 3, and 4, is set to begin on March 30, 2026, and will last for 30 days.

Due to this construction, Western Railway has decided to modify the operations of three major trains. A press release from Vinit Abhishek, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, has informed passengers about these changes.

One of the affected trains is the 12935 Bandra Terminus-Surat Superfast Express. Instead of terminating at Surat Station, this train will conclude its journey at Udhna Station from March 30 to April 28, 2026. Additionally, the train number 20925 Surat-Amravati Superfast Express, which will operate from April 2 to April 26, 2026, will commence its journey from Udhna Station.

As a result, train services between Surat and Udhna will be partially canceled. Similarly, the train number 20926 Amravati-Surat Superfast Express, running from March 30 to April 27, 2026, will also terminate at Udhna Station, leading to partial cancellations between Udhna and Surat.

Western Railway has urged passengers to plan their journeys in advance, considering these changes. Travelers are advised to check the current status of trains through the official railway website, the NTES app, or by calling 139.

The redevelopment of Surat Station is part of an initiative to modernize the railway and enhance passenger amenities. Once completed, the station will feature a roof, improved platform facilities, and modern infrastructure, benefiting thousands of travelers.

Railway officials have stated that all necessary measures are being taken to minimize passenger inconvenience during the construction period. Additional arrangements are being made at Udhna Station to ensure that affected passengers face no difficulties. Passengers are encouraged not to arrive at the station without confirmation and to regularly check the train status.
