Major Drug Bust in Mumbai: Heroin Worth ₹3.82 Crore Seized, Two Arrested

Mumbai, May 11: The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Police’s Kandivali unit has conducted a significant operation, leading to the arrest of two alleged drug suppliers and the seizure of 765 grams of heroin valued at approximately ₹3.82 crore in the international market. Authorities disclosed this information on Monday.

The operation was initiated based on specific intelligence regarding suspicious drug trafficking activities in the Versova area near Yari Road in Andheri.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Armaan Ayub Malik (32) and Danish Bhura Ali (23), both residents of Uttarakhand. According to police, they had come to Mumbai solely for the purpose of supplying narcotics.

During the raid conducted by the ANC team, the suspects were apprehended, and the heroin shipment was recovered from their possession.

A case has been registered against them under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Both suspects were presented in a local court, which remanded them to police custody until May 15 for further questioning.

During interrogation, the suspects reportedly revealed that they had previously traveled to Mumbai multiple times for drug trafficking.

Officials stated that the duo would travel from Uttarakhand, rent temporary accommodations, sell drug shipments, and return to their home state after completing transactions.

Police sources disclosed that the suspects admitted to having made approximately six to seven trips to Mumbai for drug supply in the past.

Authorities are now focusing on uncovering the broader network associated with this racket, which includes suppliers, local distributors, financiers, and interstate contacts.

The ANC is also working to trace the source of the heroin and identify the intended recipients of the seized shipment.

A senior Mumbai police officer indicated that further arrests are likely as the investigation progresses, and both technical and financial inquiries are underway to gather comprehensive information about the drug network.
