Main Accused in Twisha Sharma Case Surrenders to Court in Jabalpur

Jabalpur, May 23: In the ongoing investigation into the death of Twisha Sharma, the main accused, Samarth Singh, has made headlines once again. His lawyer, Jaydeep Kaurav, revealed in an interview that Singh had initially filed for anticipatory bail in the High Court but later withdrew the application, expressing his intention to surrender to the court.

Kaurav stated that Samarth Singh arrived at the Jabalpur District Court to surrender. However, by the time he reached, the court had closed for the day. Consequently, Singh surrendered to the Jabalpur police, who then transferred him into the custody of the Bhopal police.

The lawyer mentioned, “I am unsure why Samarth Singh arrived in Jabalpur. He may not have realized that he needed to surrender in Bhopal instead. This could explain why he went to Jabalpur and surrendered there.” Currently, Singh is in the custody of the Bhopal police, who will conduct further investigations.

Kaurav added that the police are actively investigating the case. The situation will become clearer once the investigation is complete and the police submit their final report. He noted that Singh arrived at the court around 4:30 PM, but the court had already closed by then. Additionally, the lawyer stated he was unaware of any changes to Singh’s clothing.

The suspicious death of Twisha Sharma continues to attract significant media attention. A major development occurred last Friday when Samarth Singh, the primary accused and Twisha’s husband, appeared at the Jabalpur District Court. Following this, the Bhopal police took him into custody and transported him to Bhopal, as confirmed by the Jabalpur Superintendent of Police.

During his time at the court, Singh attempted to conceal his identity by wearing glasses, a mask, and a hat. When journalists questioned him about Twisha Sharma’s death, allegations of dowry harassment, and other charges, he remained completely silent and did not respond to any inquiries.
