Parbhani, October 7 (Daily Kiran) : Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde emphasized the Maharashtra government’s unwavering commitment to supporting farmers during a drought crisis. Speaking in Parbhani, he reassured farmers and their families that the Shiv Sena party would not abandon them in these challenging times.
Shinde reiterated the government’s dedication to farmers, announcing measures such as halting loan recovery, facilitating loan restructuring, and securing fodder supplies. He pledged that the Shiv Sena would stand firmly by farmers and their families throughout this crisis.
His comments came during the launch of the ‘Service to Dedication’ initiative, which celebrates Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s 25 years of public service. As part of this initiative, the Shiv Sena plans to distribute 25,000 bicycles to farmers’ children and 25,000 sewing machines to women. Additionally, the program will provide festive ration kits, known as ‘Anandacha Shidha,’ and other essential items to needy families.
The party will also organize community marriage ceremonies and inaugurate 25 ambulances to further support the community. Shinde personally distributed bicycles and sewing machines to beneficiaries during the event.
Acknowledging the severe drought conditions in Maharashtra, Shinde recognized the hardships faced by farmers and women across the state. He reiterated the Shiv Sena’s commitment to ensuring that the challenges posed by the drought do not overshadow the upcoming Diwali celebrations for affected families.
Despite a busy schedule, Shinde revealed that he had a one-hour discussion with Prime Minister Modi, where they focused significantly on the drought situation and women’s welfare in Maharashtra. The Prime Minister assured him of all possible assistance for the state.
Shinde noted that the state government has already declared a drought and that all cabinet members have visited farms to meet with farmers and address their concerns. He urged all political parties to set aside their differences and collaborate for the welfare of farmers.
