Mumbai, June 21: Deputy Chief Minister Suanetra Pawar stated on Sunday that the Mahayuti government is dedicated to the progress of Maharashtra, emphasizing public welfare and democratic dialogue.
Addressing a press conference ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly’s monsoon session, Pawar highlighted that the Assembly serves as the primary platform to address the public’s expectations, questions, and aspirations within a democratic framework.
He expressed optimism that the upcoming session would feature extensive discussions on significant issues related to public interest, development projects, and the state’s progress.
Pawar assured that the monsoon session would meet the public’s expectations, accelerate development, and pave the way for decisions that serve the best interests of the state.
He reiterated the Mahayuti government’s commitment to the overall development of Maharashtra, ensuring that public issues are raised in the Assembly and effectively resolved.
Referring to the traditional high tea party held on the eve of the session, Pawar noted that this event is a longstanding and positive tradition aimed at fostering effective dialogue between the ruling coalition and the opposition, rather than merely serving as a formality.
He acknowledged that differences may exist, but emphasized the importance of dialogue in a democracy. Constructive discussions and positive cooperation are essential for public welfare.
Pawar further stated that all issues can be resolved through dialogue, and the state government is ready to welcome every constructive suggestion from the opposition to find meaningful solutions to public concerns.
Due to the impact of El Niño, the state has not yet received the expected rainfall, and the progress of the monsoon remains slow.
In light of these circumstances, farmers have been advised to avoid rushing into sowing and to rely on official forecasts issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) before making any decisions.
To provide relief to farmers amid the delay, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar highlighted the recent distribution of the 23rd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
He mentioned that this installment, released online by Prime Minister Narendra Modi two days ago, transferred ₹1,817 crores directly into the bank accounts of approximately 9.1 million farmer families across Maharashtra.
