Madhya Pradesh Government Supports PMs Appeal for Fuel Savings, Agriculture, and Travel

Bhopal, May 12: The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, urged citizens on Monday to follow the suggestions made by Prime Minister Modi in the interest of the nation, given the global crisis.

During a weekly cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Yadav discussed the Prime Minister’s appeal with his council. He emphasized that, in light of the current global challenges and supply chain issues, it is essential to adopt various conservation measures as suggested by PM Modi. “We all should heed his appeal,” he stated.

The Prime Minister has encouraged citizens to make extensive use of public transport services and to promote work-from-home arrangements and virtual meetings. He stressed the need to prioritize online and video conferencing systems to reduce fuel consumption.

Farmers have been urged to use solar pumps instead of diesel pumps and to shift towards natural farming by reducing the use of chemical fertilizers. This initiative aims to decrease the country’s dependence on petroleum products and fertilizers.

Additionally, PM Modi called for increased utilization of Indian Railways’ freight trains for goods transport to alleviate pressure on supply chains during the global crisis.

In line with the Prime Minister’s appeal, Chief Minister Yadav advised citizens to postpone their international travel plans for at least a year and instead explore domestic tourist destinations. He also encouraged the public to contribute to fuel savings by using public transport or electric vehicles.

Furthermore, he suggested that people refrain from purchasing gold for a year and reduce the consumption of cooking oil at home.

Yadav mentioned that the state government will coordinate with various departments to promote these measures. Awareness campaigns will be launched to encourage the use of public transport, virtual meetings, solar pumps, and natural farming.

He added that the state government will review travel and meeting protocols in accordance with the appeal. Departments related to agriculture, transport, and tourism have been tasked with developing action plans to support conservation measures.
