Madhya Pradesh CM Promises Adequate Daytime Electricity for Farmers, Increases Wheat Procurement Target

Bhopal, April 25: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Friday that farmers in Madhya Pradesh will receive sufficient electricity during the day. He also secured approval from the central government to raise the wheat procurement target from 7.8 million metric tons to 10 million metric tons for this season. He described this move as a tribute to the hard work of farmers.

CM Yadav stated that slot booking for selling wheat at the minimum support price (MSP) is now fully open to all farmers, regardless of size. Procurement centers will operate six days a week, including Saturdays. The deadline for slot booking has also been extended from April 30 to May 9.

Addressing the state’s residents, particularly the farming community, on a social media platform, the Chief Minister emphasized his government’s commitment to ensuring farmers’ prosperity. He declared that “true promises and concrete actions” form the foundation of his administration. He noted that the dream of a developed Madhya Pradesh by 2047 relies on the strength of its farmers, whom he referred to as the state’s greatest asset.

The Chief Minister also discussed ongoing efforts to provide daytime electricity for irrigation. He mentioned that under the “Krisak Mitra Yojana,” solar pumps are being distributed to farmers at a 90% subsidy to promote energy self-sufficiency.

Additionally, he announced new measures to encourage pulse and oilseed crops, including the procurement of urad (black gram) at MSP and a bonus of 600 rupees per quintal. He further stated that farmers are already benefiting from better prices for mustard under the “Bhavantar Yojana.”

CM Yadav asserted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, Madhya Pradesh is experiencing rapid development, with farmers being the strongest pillar of this progress. He assured that the government will stand firmly with the “annadatas” (food providers) and strengthen the bonds of trust built over the past two years.
