LG Sandhu Urges Youth to Preserve Cultural Heritage at Baisakhi Celebration

New Delhi, April 14: Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor (LG) T.S. Sandhu participated in the Baisakhi celebration on Tuesday. He called for guiding the youth to preserve our rich cultural heritage.

In a message on the social media platform X, LG Sandhu expressed his joy at attending the annual Baisakhi celebration organized by the International Punjabi Society at the India International Centre.

He stated, “Baisakhi is much more than a harvest festival—it is a vibrant celebration of resilience, determination, and the indomitable Punjabi spirit that fosters community wherever Punjabis go.”

The LG highlighted the Punjabi community’s significant contributions to shaping Delhi’s historical fabric and driving its modern development through business, industry, and a spirit of selfless service, which form the foundation of our national capital’s identity.

He further remarked, “As we celebrate our shared heritage, let us reaffirm our commitment to transform individual success into collective strength. We must guide our youth, support emerging entrepreneurs, and safeguard our rich cultural heritage for future generations.”

LG Sandhu emphasized that the spirit of Baisakhi should inspire unity, compassion, and progress in all our endeavors.

Earlier on Tuesday, the LG referred to the recently launched Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor as a ‘game-changer.’ He expressed hope that this corridor would serve as a ‘lifeline of progress’ for millions of residents in the National Capital Region (NCR).

In a message on X, he stated, “The inauguration of the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor by Prime Minister Narendra Modi marks another historic milestone in India’s infrastructure journey. This massive ₹11,868 crore project is a powerful testament to the Prime Minister’s transformative vision, implemented under the dynamic leadership of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, bringing citizens closer to world-class connectivity.”
