New Delhi, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : On September 6, leaders from various political backgrounds gathered to pay tribute to Saint Keshavanand Bharati, the architect of the Kerala land reforms, on his death anniversary. Among them was Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who took to social media to express his reverence.
In his post, Adityanath praised Bharati’s life, stating, “The great saint and proponent of the Kerala land reforms dedicated his entire life to the upliftment of Indian culture and social service. His struggles, sacrifices, and visionary thoughts instilled awareness, spirituality, and a sense of nationalism in society. He will always be remembered for his commitment to constitutional values. Today, on his death anniversary, I pay my humble respects.”
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also shared her condolences on social media, writing, “On the death anniversary of the illustrious practitioner of the Sanatan saint tradition, I pay my humble tribute to Saint Keshavanand Bharati Ji. His ascetic life dedicated to religion, culture, society, and the nation continues to inspire national consciousness and the welfare of the public.”
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed similar sentiments, stating, “On the death anniversary of the revered spiritual leader, Swami Keshavanand Bharati Ji, known as a protector of the Constitution, I bow in reverence. Your dedicated life in defending the Indian Constitution, democracy, and justice will always be remembered. Your thoughts, ideals, and spirit of service will continue to inspire us to fulfill our responsibilities towards the nation and society.”
Pankaj Chaudhary, the President of the Uttar Pradesh BJP, also honored Bharati, acknowledging the historical contributions he made to safeguard the soul of the Constitution and the fundamental rights of citizens.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Maurya posted a tribute, saying, “On the death anniversary of the great spiritual leader and pioneer of the Kerala land reform movement, I pay my humble respects to Swami Keshavanand Bharati Ji. His struggle is a significant chapter in the defense of India’s democracy, fundamental rights, and judicial independence.”
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak added his tribute, recognizing Bharati as a great spiritual leader, a scholar of Advaita philosophy, and the architect of the Kerala land reform movement.
