
Patna witnessed a tragic incident on Friday in Rasulpur village under Fatua police station where two individuals were shot dead and one seriously injured over a land dispute. The incident has caused tension in the area.
The deceased have been identified as 50-year-old Rajwanti Devi and 55-year-old Devasagar Singh. Both sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were rushed to the hospital, where they succumbed to excessive bleeding.
According to Rajwanti Devi’s son, Jitendra Kumar, the clash arose from a minor dispute over just two inches of land. He explained that the conflict had been ongoing for years between two brothers, Shravan Prasad and Rajkumar Yadav.
Jitendra narrated that on Friday morning, his father Shravan Prasad and others were talking to his uncle Rajkumar Yadav when suddenly Rajkumar’s son, Shivam Kumar Yadav, opened fire. Rajwanti Devi, Jitendra’s brother Rajan Prasad, and a villager, Devasagar Singh, were shot. Rajwanti Devi and Devasagar Singh died at the hospital, while Rajan Prasad is undergoing treatment at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).
The accused fled the scene after the attack, escalating fear and unrest among villagers. Residents have demanded strict action against the culprits and adequate compensation for the victims’ families.
To prevent further escalation, police have been deployed in the village. Upon receiving information, SP Kundan Kumar and his team reached the site and launched an investigation. A search operation is underway to apprehend the suspects.
The police recovered two pistols, a sword, and several empty cartridges from the spot. Authorities are examining all aspects of the case and have assured stringent action against those responsible.
Police officials reported that the situation is currently under control, although the atmosphere remains tense in the locality.
