Kunal Ghosh Confident of TMC Victory in West Bengal Elections

Kolkata, May 4: Kunal Ghosh, the Trinamool Congress candidate from the Beleghata assembly constituency, has expressed confidence in the party’s success in the West Bengal elections. He stated that the people of Bengal are praying for Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee‘s victory and are blessing the party.

When asked about the initial trends, Ghosh remarked, “We are not focusing on early trends because we have complete faith in the people of Beleghata, the citizens of Bengal, our workers, and our allies. Across Bengal, people are praying for Didi’s victory and showering their blessings upon her. We are fully confident.”

He acknowledged that postal ballot figures may fluctuate but emphasized that early data cannot determine the final results. “Mamata Banerjee has the blessings of all of Bengal. We are confident of winning the elections,” he added.

Regarding trust in the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Ghosh expressed skepticism about the Election Commission. “I do not trust the Election Commission. They caused disturbances until late Sunday night. Sometimes they turn off the CCTV, and at other times they say mobile phones and pens are not allowed. How will the counting agent take notes?” he questioned.

Ghosh also targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stating, “BJP leaders threaten to hang us upside down. They speak the language of local goons. They will stage a drama of post-election violence. We want peace. The BJP aims to send central forces to intimidate our workers, but we will not fall for their tactics.”

However, the election results in West Bengal appear to contradict the TMC leader’s claims. Current trends show the BJP leading in 117 seats, while the TMC is ahead in only 70 seats.
