Mumbai, April 21: In today’s world, mental health discussions are becoming more prevalent. However, certain conditions still face stigma, particularly Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), which is often viewed merely as a challenge. Actress Kubra Sait is striving to change this perception.
On Tuesday, she shared a video on Instagram discussing her experiences and referred to ADHD as her ‘superpower.’
In the video, Kubra states, “For a long time, I struggled to understand myself and sought therapy for help. Initially, I found it difficult to comprehend my mind, but gradually, I began to realize that my way of thinking is unique, and that is my strength.”
In her video caption, she expressed her heartfelt thoughts, saying, “Now I feel that my mind is fully active, and I have come to understand it better. After years of hard work, reflection, and treatment, I have gained the strength to listen to my inner voice. I am happier now and have a more positive outlook on life.”
She added, “Perhaps I was once fighting against my own nature, but now I have learned to embrace my way of thinking.”
Kubra also aimed to connect with others in similar situations. She urged, “I am not alone, and there are many people in the world going through similar challenges. I encourage everyone to speak openly about their experiences instead of hiding them.”
She acknowledged that ADHD does come with challenges, such as difficulty maintaining focus on one task. However, she emphasized that understanding this condition can turn it into a strength. “In this journey, I have enhanced my creativity and developed the ability to think differently, which is now evident in my work,” she noted.
It’s important to understand that ADHD is a mental condition where individuals struggle to maintain attention. Those affected may find it hard to concentrate on one task for long periods, frequently shift their focus, feel restless, or react impulsively. Many avoid discussing it due to fear of being ridiculed.
Experts explain that ADHD affects brain function differently. While it may cause distraction and restlessness, it also fosters rapid thinking, creativity, and the generation of new ideas. Individuals with ADHD often view things from a unique perspective and may seek novelty, which can enhance their creativity.
