KMT Chairperson Pays Tribute at Sun Yat-sens Mausoleum in Nanjing

Beijing, April 9: Chang Li-wen, the chairperson of the Chinese Kuomintang (KMT) party, led a delegation to pay tribute at the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum located in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province in eastern China.

The mausoleum is situated in the eastern suburbs of Nanjing. Sun Yat-sen, the founder of the KMT, was a revered revolutionary leader who passed away in Beijing in 1925. His remains were interred at this site in 1929.

Visiting the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum is a significant part of the KMT chairperson’s trip to the mainland.

Chang Li-wen is currently visiting mainland China at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) and its General Secretary, Xi Jinping. Upon arriving in Nanjing, she expressed gratitude for the warm welcome extended by General Secretary Xi and the mainland. She stated that the purpose of her visit is to ensure peace across the Taiwan Strait and to promote public welfare.
