Ajmer, 16 August (Kiran News). Police have made a major breakthrough in the Sanju Saini murder case that occurred on Raksha Bandhan in Kishangarh, Ajmer district. BJP leader Rohit Saini murdered his wife Sanju by slitting her throat. The entire conspiracy was hatched under pressure from his girlfriend, Ritu Saini. Police have arrested Ritu, while the accused husband Rohit, his associate Ravi Meghwal, and a minor have already been taken into custody.

ASP (Rural) Deepak Kumar revealed during a press conference that Rohit and Ritu had been in a relationship for the past two years. Ritu is divorced, works as a teacher in a private school, and has a four-year-old daughter. She was continuously pressuring Rohit, saying she would not continue the relationship unless he removed his wife from the picture. On Raksha Bandhan, Rohit took his wife Sanju to her maternal home in Ralawata village. On the return journey, Rohit’s associate Ravi and the minor were already waiting at Hathi Khan-Silora Road in Kishangarh. As per the plan, Rohit deliberately toppled the bike and overpowered his wife. Then, he killed her by slitting her throat.
To make the incident appear as a robbery, the accused took away earrings, cash, and a mobile phone, but left the mangalsutra at the scene, which made police suspicious of the robbery theory.
There were three key reasons that led to the husband’s arrest. First, there were no injury marks on his body, even though Rohit claimed there was a scuffle. Second, in a real robbery, the mangalsutra would have also been taken. Third, there had been ongoing disputes between the couple, even reaching the level of a village panchayat, yet Rohit denied any quarrels to the police.
The investigation revealed that the murder had been planned several days in advance. The accused had bought scissors and a knife before the crime and instructed his associates to keep their phones switched off to avoid police tracking. On the day of the incident, Rohit sat next to his wife’s body and pretended to weep loudly, but under strict police questioning, he confessed to the entire crime.
