Khushboo Patni Expresses Disappointment Over Womens Reservation Bill Failure

Mumbai, April 18: The 31st amendment bill of the Constitution was rejected in the Lok Sabha on Friday after prolonged debates and disagreements. This bill aimed to amend the Women’s Reservation Law but required a two-thirds majority to pass. It received 298 votes in favor and 230 against, falling short of the necessary threshold. Consequently, the Women’s Reservation Law remains unpassed. Reactions are pouring in from political circles and social media alike.

Bollywood actress Disha Patni’s sister and fitness coach Khushboo Patni expressed her sorrow over the bill’s failure. She raised concerns about how long women will continue to suffer and be deprived of their rights. Khushboo stated that she has been hearing about bills supporting women’s rights for years, yet none have been implemented. She questioned on Instagram how much longer they must wait.

She wrote, “How much longer? Sometimes it was the census, other times it was delimitation, or political debates that held it back. The Women’s Reservation Bill has still not been implemented.” She further noted, “Everyone knows that the delimitation freeze will be lifted in 2026, yet there is still no solution. Is this our problem or that of political parties? How many more years must we wait, until 2035? I heard about this when I was born, and I am still hearing about it today. I hope I won’t be hearing about it in old age as well.”

Khushboo Patni is vocal about women’s issues. She not only advocates for women’s safety on social media but also provides self-defense training. Additionally, she launched an affordable pepper spray designed to assist women in dangerous situations. Meanwhile, Khushboo is making her debut on the reality show ‘Tribevers,’ which has already aired on Jio Hotstar.
